Ingredient you need to make these melt in your mouth doughnuts are all-purpose flour, eggs, granulated sugar, oil, buttermilk, vanilla, confectioner’s sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda. Ingredients needed to make Homemade Buttermilk Doughnuts:

4 cups all-purpose flour

4 teaspoon baking powder

3/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

2 eggs, beaten

1 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup vegetable oil

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 cup buttermilk

Sifted confectioner’s sugar

Vegetable oil for frying doughnuts

Directions for making Homemade Buttermilk Doughnuts:

Step 1: In a large bowl stir together the flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda.

Step 2: In a medium bowl beat eggs and granulated sugar together until thick and lemon-colored.

Step 3: Stir in vanilla and oil into egg and sugar mixture.

Step 4: Add dry ingredients and buttermilk alternately to egg mixture, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.

Step 5: Beat just until blended after each addition, do not over beat the mixture.

Step 6: Roll dough out on lightly floured surface to 1/2 inch thickness.

Step 7: Cut with floured doughnut cutter.

Step 8: Fry in deep hot oil at 375 degrees F, about 1 1/2 minutes on each side or until golden brown.

Step 9: Drain on paper towel.

Step 10: Cool slightly.

Tips:

You may also use a glaze and sprinkles if you desire on your doughnut after cooking.

Warning:

Be careful when you drop doughnut in hot oil.
